The festival of Kanakeshwar Baba is a grand affair celebrated with great enthusiasm and fervor during the months of December and January at the Shree Dev Bodgeshwar Temple. The annual fair, known as 'Zatra,' is the highlight of the festival, attracting both locals and tourists alike. The fair contributes to the thriving market center of Mapusa, making it an integral part of the region's cultural and social fabric.

Me and my group mates had gone to collect some information about bodgeshwar dev and we got to know many things. Pujari (priest) of the temple gave us information like Devi Shantadurga told Dev Bodgeshwar to handle mapusa city. And there is two more devta. Dev Khapreshwar and Kankeshwar. And he told us they offer banana as prasad (divine food). And Wednesday and Sunday is main day of lord bodgeshwar on this day they say whoever come with their problem or any kind of health issues that get cured and their problem get solved.

I along with team mates visited our college neighbouring village " Madapai - Khandola Marcela  to gather information regarding the Rakhandar of the village. This village is located a few meters away from our college.  I was fortunate to interview Dilip Tukaram Turi an elderly person from the village. He shared a lot of knowledge with us. Each Rakhandar protect their specific places. Smashananda is a small worshiping place dedicated to the Blind Grandfather. This Rakhandar is believed in safeguarding the village from harm.
