Rakhandar - Madapai
I along with team mates visited our college neighbouring village "Madapai - Khandola Marcela to gather information regarding the Rakhandar of the village. This village is located a few meters away from our college.
I was fortunate to interview Dilip Tukaram Turi an elderly person from the village. He shared a lot of knowledge with us. The three Rakhandars, Smashananda (Blind Grandfather), Narabai, and God Sakalleo. These Rakhandars protect the borders, cattles and most importantly the well-being of your community. Each Rakhandar protect their specific places. Smashananda is a small worshiping place dedicated to the Blind Grandfather. This Rakhandar is believed in safeguarding the village from harm. Narabai is another significant Rakhandar, this ancient temple is built by the Pandavas. The main Rakhandar is God Sakalleo, the main worshipped by the villagers. On Mondays, devotees gather to offer prayers and perform Bhajans, seeking the blessings and protection of God Sakalleo.
Conducting Bhajans
While there is no specific formula for conducting Bhajans, the villagers of Madapai, Turiwada, follow a simple method. With devotion they gather to sing hymns and offer prayers, seeking the blessings of God Sakalleo.
